Tesla has finally started selling its long-announced Cybertruck pickup trucks. The first batch of electric vehicles was allegedly sent to dealerships at the beginning of September, but it turned out that the cars were being taken for further tests, and mass production of the car was postponed again and will be launched as early as 2024 instead of the promised 2023.

To sweeten the pill for those who can't wait to get their coveted car, the Petersen Museum in Los Angeles put the VIN number of one of the first Tesla pickup trucks produced up for auction - the car went under the hammer for $400,000. This means that its buyer will be able to pick up an electric car before others. To understand how much he overpaid, note that the cost of the car is about $35,000.



Apparently, quite wealthy people gathered at the auction. Tickets for the event were available for $1,750, with table reservations costing more at $17,500 and a table in the VIP area costing $30,000.

Information about the sale of a pickup truck is unofficial, because... The Petersen Museum declined to confirm the figure for which the Cybertruck sold "due to internal fundraising policies."

Interestingly, if all goes according to plan, the winning bidder should receive their Cybertruck before the end of the year.
