The girl was leaving a small shop on a busy street in southeast London in broad daylight. The suspects - two young men - according to the seller of the store, spotted her while still inside. One went out and waited for her on the street, near the nearby Mind store.

When she left, he approached her and tried to persuade her to come with him. And he might have succeeded in this if a quick-witted lady who was passing by had not intervened in the situation.
