These are the first buildings of this size in the world. A local company has revealed the purpose of creating such huge nests.
Shipbuilding company Red7Marine from the UK and Danish multinational corporation Orsted announced the completion of construction of RISSA, the three largest birdhouses in the world. Giants located off the coast of Suffolk in the East of the island.
Birdhouses are installed directly on the water, at a distance of 1 to 2 km from the coast. Their height is 60 meters. Of these, 30 meters is top, and the remaining 30 meters - a pile hammered into the bottom.

Each RISSA nest has an octagonal platform that mimics the natural habitat of birds. Seven out of eight walls they are a model of cavities in the rock with an approach for birds. On the eighth wall is a door for emergency access for the attendant personnel.
Three birdhouses are intended for migratory and marine birds, in particular gulls and kittiwakes. One mega jack can hold at least 500 birds. The room also has a smart camera system. and sensors, which monitors the fullness of the room. So zoologists will be able to understand whether there is enough space for birds during their flight.
Birdhouses are expected to attract the attention of birds and save from death. The fact is that off the coast of Great Britain are going install many wind turbines and the Hornsea 3 wind farm with a capacity of 2852 MW.
People fear that with their construction they will destroy the population seagulls, as the birds will collide with windmills. Birdhouses can change the route of the birds and protect them. Red7Marine called this solution "environmental compensation measure".
RISSA birdhouses will not interfere with ships - on demand Coast Guard, the base of the nest was painted yellow, and navigation lights were installed on the sides and top.
