In Montevideo, Uruguay, the last letter from Titanic passenger Ramon Artagaveitia Gomez. Passenger letter went under the hammer for 12 thousand dollars.
It is three pages of handwritten text. A photo of a man taken in 1909 was also sold.
The man wrote that he wanted to ride the Titanic to the North America and that he was attracted by the size of the "45,000-ton steamer".
Yesterday, when we arrived on the steamer, it was cool, as in Rio de la Plata, and when I raised my head, it seemed that I was standing at at the foot of a five-story building. At the entrance I was greeted by about 50 waiters. One of them took my bags and we went up to my floor to elevator. The dining room was located on deck D, and below were other premises,” wrote the author of the letter.
