Italian fisherman caught record catfish (5 photos + 1 video)
Professional fisherman, member of the MADCAT fishing team Alessandro Biancardi did not expect that an ordinary bite would turn into 43-minute battle with the river giant. According to him, he never saw larger catfish. Oh, and I had to tinker with him! 
This catfish, caught in the Po River (Italy), may be record holder. Its length is 2.85 m, while the previous world record - 2.8 m.
For Alessandro, it was an ordinary day when he went to fishing, but soon this day turned into a dream of an avid angler - an accomplishment that will be remembered for a long time to come and an amazing trophy (who eventually sailed away, because Alessandro is an athlete, not hunter, and released the caught prey).
Rybina pecked literally on the second or third cast of the fishing rod. Realizing what monster he got on the hook, Alessandro, in his words, fell into a panic. The scale of the disaster was revealed to him after the catfish began to break through to the surface and with all his might dragged the fisherman from the boat to myself. 
The fight lasted 43 minutes and the man eventually won. Alessandro only managed to measure the length of the catfish before releasing it.
Of course, I was curious how much it weighs, but I didn't want to cause this rare specimen too much trouble and decided release. I hope he can bring another angler the same the joy it brought me. 
When it first surfaced, I really understood that picked up a hulk, adrenaline rushed, and the fear of losing him almost brought me to panic. I was alone against the biggest catfish I have ever seen in 23 years.
Pulling a giant catfish ashore, Alessandro almost lost his boat and equipment. He jumped to the ground to try haul out the catch, and the fast current nearly swept his boat away. She is already drifted downstream and had to swim after her - how as if a hard fight with a catfish wasn't enough! 
Alessandro then called his fishing friends to help him measure the catfish, as he was sure the fish was special. Certainly however, the catfish turned out to be a champion, and Alessandro and his comrades hardly believed to their eyes when they measured it. 
MADCAT claims this catfish is breaking the world record International Fisheries Association (IGFA). He transcends the current record holder, another fish pulled from the Po River by an angler Attila Zedeli in 2010, by as much as 40 cm.
Unfortunately, since Alessandro decided to release his impressive catch, he won't count for this record. Nevertheless, it will claim the IGFS record for longest catch and let go”, ahead of the previous record holder, a massive fish, also caught in Po, by four centimeters.
