Shadows on the walls after the explosion of the atomic bomb (4 photos)
Photos of the terrible consequences of the explosion of nuclear bombs over Hiroshima and Nagasaki have seen almost everything. The researchers noticed strange fact: on some walls and sidewalks one could see prints that look like human shadows. Why did this happen?
On August 6, 1945, 600 meters above Hiroshima exploded atomic bomb "Kid". An explosion with a capacity of 16 thousand tons in TNT equivalent led to simply horrifying consequences. Around the city first a pulse of heat energy swept through, affecting 13 thousand square kilometers. This was the first and largest energy release, duration flash which was approximately 0.1 seconds. The next outbreak was much less powerful.
Approximately a quarter of the population of Hiroshima perished instantly. Next quarter died within months from exposure radiation to the body. Three days after the first explosion occurred second. Already over Nagasaki. The second bomb was named "Fat Man", and the power was more than the first: 21 thousand tons of TNT. Result was about the same as after the first explosion. And all over town black shadows of people in different poses were found.
"Fat Man" and a copy of "Baby"
Scientists believe that during the explosion of "Baby" and "Fat Man" from powerful energy of heat and light came out from the detonation center. different objects, including the human bodies that got in the way of the first detonation waves, simply absorbed this energy, as if they were covering a piece surfaces. And the very surface around the shadow was discolored. That is these are not shadows, but parts of walls or sidewalks that have retained their original color, in the place where they were covered by bodies or others objects. And the rest - discolored.
During the explosions, the temperature reached up to 5500 degrees Celsius and according to shadow researchers there were many more, but they were destroyed other blast waves and heat. But some nuclear shadows remained, as a reminder of how inhumane it is to use such a weapon.
