The father of more than 550 children faces a trial and a ban on further reproduction (5 photos)

Dutch man who has fathered more than 550 children is accused of indefatigable desire to reproduce, with which he endangers the well-being of his offspring.





Jonathan M., 41, a serial sperm donor from the Netherlands, is accused of putting his desire for constant reproduction above the physical and mental well-being of their children. According to Dutch law, a man can become a sperm donor only for 12 families and at the same time give birth to no more than 25 offspring in order to minimize the chance of incest and protect mental health children. However, the mother of one of the many children of the man and Donorkind Foundation, an organization dedicated to child donors, claim that the Dutchman blatantly broke the rules and became a father hundreds of children over the past decade or so. Now they lawyers were brought in to prevent the man from becoming a father again.



“If I knew that he is already the father of over a hundred children, I would never choose this donor,” says the mother, who filed complaint against Jonathan M. - When I think about the consequences this could have for my child, I get a bad feeling and I I lose confidence in his future: how many more children will be added? Going to court is the only way to protect my child.”

A serial sperm donor first came to public attention in 2017, when it was revealed that he fathered over 100 children. At that time, the Dutch Society for Obstetrics and Gynecology instructed banks sperm and clinics across the country immediately stop using his material, but apparently that hasn't stopped the man from getting even more children.



The Donorkind Foundation claims that Jonathan M. continued offer his sperm to expectant mothers via social media and lied about the number of children he has already fathered. Families relied on the law which allows the donor to conceive only 25 children, but the man betrayed them trust, having given birth to more than 550 children worldwide.

“The donor has prioritized its commitment to reproduction, and his behavior poses a threat to the mental and the physical well-being of donor children,” said Mark de Hake.



When the genetic material of a sperm donor is present in a large number of descendants, there is an increased risk that half-brothers and the sisters will accidentally have an intimate relationship at some point in their lives, but this risk, apparently, seemed to the man an insufficient reason stop in his quest to populate the planet with his descendants.

Dutch media reported that Jonathan M. is currently time lives in Kenya and still refuses to comment on allegations of that is the father of more than 550 children around the world.
