29-year-old doctor Luke Budworth from the British town of Milgate recently discovered that his apartment is practically a museum. During repairs in a room that used to be a kitchen, locksmiths found on wall behind the kitchen cabinet old drawings. After that, the landlord he began to search, and found similar and even more similar frescoes next to the pipe - they were boarded up with boards.
"I was captured by these finds, and I grabbed the tools and started looking for more. At first I thought it was old Victorian wallpaper, but then I realized that they were painted on the wall of a neighboring building - which means they are older than the building itself. They date back to about the 1660s, then is to the era of the civil war. It is amazing to realize that history is not only outside, but also inside my apartment," said the guy.
The experts analyzed the frescoes and determined that they depicts scenes from the 1635 book Emblems, written in English poet Francis Quarles.
