The family cut down the old 110-year-old poplar in two, but after It was decided to give him a second life. The remains of the trunk were used for creating a mini-library. It turned out charming!
There is an unusual non-profit organization Little free in the USA Library (Small free library) - it helps ordinary people establish book exchange points in the areas in which they live. Behind over 10 years of existence, they have helped to install more than 75 thousand mini-libraries in 88 different countries. The organization recently shared creative project of one woman, a resident of the American state Idaho.
Librarian, artist and former bookbinder named Sharaly Armitage Howard created not just a mini-library, but a real masterpiece. When her family recently cut down a 110-year-old poplar tree in their yard, the woman decided to give the rest of the trunk a second life, and made a library inside it. The family cut out the inside of the trunk, added shelves, lighting and roof. Thus, an unusual and charming a library where locals are happy to leave their books and borrow read something.
