An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.5 occurred in southern Turkey tonight. The epicenter of the tremors was located 27 kilometers from the large city of Gaziantep, whose population exceeds a million people. However, the settlement of Kahramanmaraş suffered the most; the town lies in ruins.

However, the Federal Air Transport Agency stated that the earthquake in Turkey did not affect the flights of Russian airlines; all flights over Turkish airspace are operating as normal.

According to Syrian authorities, Aleppo, Hama and Latakia were hit hardest by the earthquake. According to the latest data, 237 people were killed in the republic and 639 were injured.
