Saved from under the ice
The girl jumped into the river Malaya Kokshaga in Yoshkar-Ola
Augusta Romanova, a resident of Yoshkar-Ola, said that a hood saved a girl who was pulled out of a half-frozen river near the Vantovoy Bridge. The woman became an accidental eyewitness to the tragedy and filmed the process of rescuing the victim on the phone. Romanova told Gazeta.Ru that before the rescuers arrived, the girl lay in the water for about seven minutes.
“I saw the girl being carried by the current. She was saved by the fact that she was lying on her back, and her head was covered with a hood. An air cushion has formed. People quickly called 112. I called too. Rescuers arrived quickly and worked very well. She was in the water for 7-10 minutes,” Romanova said.
The woman, along with other eyewitnesses, helped to warm the victim and bring her to her senses.
“I just helped her undress and gave her tea. Yes, she warmed her legs with her hand. Then they warmed her under a hot shower. Recovered. They drank tea. One kind woman ran home for things to change the girl into dry clothes. There, the ambulance arrived. I hope that everything is fine with her, ”said Romanova.
The day before, a video from the capital of the Republic of Mari El appeared on the Web. The footage shows how a girl is in a half-frozen river and does not show signs of life. One of the rescuers swam to it, bypassing the ice floes, and managed to pull it ashore.
