Violent collision of two buses in Almaty

Two buses collided at the intersection of Tole bi and Abylai Khan streets in Almaty. The traffic light at the intersection was not working at the time of the accident. One person died and many were injured.

One of the pedestrians, a 37-year-old man, died at the scene.

"17 people were delivered to the city's hospitals with various injuries. In general, 19 people were injured as a result of the accident, one refused medical assistance. One victim died before the ambulance arrived," the press service of the Almaty Public Health Department said.

According to eyewitnesses, at the time of the accident, the traffic light was not working at the intersection.
