A resident of the village of Azovo told Omsk-inform a wonderful story of saving newborn puppies. The male rabbit protected from cats and licked the puppies.

In the regional center of Azovo, Omsk region, a very unusual and touching story with animals occurred. As village resident Margarita Startseva told RIA Omsk-inform, in the summer a large rabbit with a white tail ran away from one of the farmers. They couldn’t catch him, but towards autumn he dug a hole not far from her house.

“Of course, I noticed his presence, the mink was visible from the window of the house, and I began to feed him. But he didn’t go into your arms and didn’t let you approach him. Two weeks ago I noticed that a huge white dog had come into his hole. I thought she ate it, but no. One day I saw, surprisingly, my rabbit come out. It turned out that the dog lives together with the rabbit,” the woman explained. – Once I met a dog on the road with a dead puppy in its mouth. Last week, someone shot her and she was lying there with a bloody side.

3 days after this, the owner of the house heard the puppies squeaking and saw that they crawled out of the rabbit hole hungry. At the same time, two girls and a boy did not fully open their eyes.

“The rabbit let them feed, but kept an eye on me all the time.” And then he didn’t let them crawl out of the hole - he ran around them like crazy and pushed them with his nose, and didn’t let the cats near them. He licked them - he had such clean puppies. If it weren't for him, they wouldn't have survived. It’s cold here, the temperature dropped to –25 °C,” the villager added.

Since last Saturday, Margarita has posted advertisements around the village to find homes for puppies and a rabbit. Residents of Azovo and Berezovka have already taken two girls. An owner has also been found for the rabbit, but he is not being taken away yet so that the last remaining puppy does not freeze.
