An elderly cat found a family after many years of homeless life (9 photos)
He is 12 years old and completely deaf. This incredibly affectionate cat appreciates every moment spent with his owners and expresses gratitude to them at every opportunity.
Meet Corporal Nobby Nobbs!
Before being rescued, Nobbs lived in a garage in Texas, forgotten and deprived of love. So he lived to be 12 years old, a not very well-mannered, rude and lonely cat. But all he wanted was for someone to pay attention to him.
One day, a volunteer named Karin Poplin came across our hero during one of the rescue operations. Nobbs immediately became attached to the woman: he climbed onto her lap, tried to hug her and held on to his unexpected guest with all his might.
“We have been inseparable since the moment we met. He adores me and my husband Gerald, and literally talks to us every free minute,” says Karin.
The couple has already rescued many socially maladapted cats in the Dallas area. Among them were the elderly, lonely and disabled. But Gerald and Karin had never met a cat as sensitive as Nobbs.
He has become so attached to his people that he wants to be with them every second. As soon as the owners leave the room, their deaf pet begins to worry and meow.
“He can’t hear his own voice, so he always screams very loudly. Not a cat, but a whole brass band! And she loves to sleep under the blanket, in our arms,” continues Karin.
“He is the most loving old man we have ever met.”
After years of loneliness, Nobbs is enjoying every day of his new life. He is happy that there are people who hug him. In response, he presses his head against his saviors as a sign of endless gratitude.
“He gets along great with other cats. His presence is like a breath of fresh air. He is so grateful and affectionate that I can’t even calmly talk about it.”
Nobbs constantly makes the owners smile. He calms them down during difficult times and encourages them when they are in a bad mood.
“Corporal Nobby Nobbs is a bit jealous and doesn't like us paying attention to anyone else. But his jealousy doesn’t bother us one bit.
Nobbs demands a hug from his human dad while he holds his fellow Shabadoo.
“We take in different cats for our care. Those that can be adopted usually quickly find homes and loving families. And those who cannot live with us in comfort and satiety.”
Every day when his people return from work, Nobbs runs to greet them.
“He is a little ill-mannered and completely deaf, but he is the best in the world,” says Karin.
