Family abandoned cat after 20 years because he got old (5 photos)

Many people dream that their pets will stay with them for 15, 20, or even more years. But the family of our today's hero, named Rascal, abandoned the aging cat after 20 years of living together!

Suddenly lonely, old and deaf, Rascal found himself in the Spotsylvania Asylum in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

"Rascal spent most of his life with this family, so it makes sense that he was a little lost," the shelter said, hoping that this brave old cat wouldn't stay with them too long.

Fortunately, very soon (the very next day) a kind girl named Meredith decided to come for Rascal! The employees could not believe that the fate of the lost pet was decided so quickly and, of course, they were incredibly happy for the girl.

“Last night I was surfing the Internet and saw a post about Rascal. I couldn't even think about leaving him one more night at the shelter,” Meredith says.

After such a sad situation that crippled the cat, it was a great happiness and relief to see snow-white Rascal again in the arms of a caring person. The animal was transferred from the shelter without a drop of doubt and fear:

“...Thank you SO MUCH to Meredith for opening the heart and doors of her home. And also to Meredith's husband for loving her so much that he allowed her to take Rascal home???? ", they explain.

After a while, the girl said that the new pet had settled into the house wonderfully and already felt like a full-fledged owner there.

Meredith also added that she and her husband scheduled a visit to the veterinarian so that the cat could live an even healthier and more comfortable life for him.

“If his life ends, it will end in my house...” says the owner.

It turns out that even after living with some people for 20 years, you cannot get to know them completely... And after spending just one day with others, you can understand that they are the ones you have been waiting for all your life.
