Vacationers on the beach of Spanish Benidorm were shocked to see the fin of a two-meter shark in the shallow waters where most tourists swim!
The rescuer was the first to notice the scary fin. He desperately blew his whistle, attracting the attention of the beachgoers and urging them to get out of the water. However, not everyone heard him and understood what was happening. Some blithely continued to splash around two steps away from the terrible predator.
“The shark appeared literally a couple of steps from the diver,” says Julie Roberts from Cheltenham. “It was terrible! Another woman was swimming right next to the shark, and she cut circles around her, and the woman clearly did not notice anything.”
The shark swam away within minutes after the frightened holidaymakers, realizing what was happening, jumped out of the water. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.
The Mediterranean coast of Spain is home to several species of sharks, including the blue shark and the great white shark. True, they extremely rarely swim to beaches where people swim. However, the Spanish media recently reported that on the island of Gran Canaria in the Atlantic Ocean, a swimming boy was seriously injured by a shark that swam up.
