Ari Seth Cohen on his project: I get inspiration from every moment. For example, the other day I was visiting photographer Ruth, a few weeks ago she turned exactly 100 years old. When I walked into her house she was apologizing for the little mess, she said she had been doing Pilates and weight lifting so there was an exercise mat on the floor in the living room. And then, I asked her the secret of vital energy, she answered me: “Celebrate your every day and don’t look at the calendar.”
My 80-year-old friend Joyce gave me a similar answer to a similar question: “The real secret is to be in love with life and realize what you have.”
Since childhood, I have been on friendly terms with my grandmother; she inspired me with her energy and wisdom. I wanted to show how much creativity, creativity and life there is in people like her, in hopes of changing the way many people think about old age.
