A drawbridge rises right beneath a car

The driver stopped at the edge of the draw span, and the bridge began to rise right under the car. The vehicle tilted, slid forward, and struck the fixed section of the road.
This occurred on October 21, 2021, on the Ocean Avenue Bridge in Lantana, Florida. TV station WPTV obtained the surveillance footage through a request to county authorities.
According to WPTV, the operator was fired for violating rules, including the requirement to inspect the spans before raising the bridge. She explained that she had not noticed the car. When the bridge closed, the driver returned to the car and drove away.
