A scarecrow "fires" fireworks at people

During the burning of an effigy of Ravana in India, fireworks inside it flew toward the crowd.

During the celebration of Dussehra, an effigy of the demon Ravana, to which fireworks are attached, is traditionally set on fire. This is meant to symbolize the victory of good over evil. However, this year the ritual turned into a dangerous incident.

Instead of soaring upward, the firecrackers flew into the crowd. This gave the impression that the demon himself was shooting fire at the spectators. People began scattering in panic, dodging sparks and rockets. The incident was caught on video.

There has been no official information about casualties. As people joked on the internet after the video of the festival was published, the demon did not let himself be defeated so easily and launched a counterattack.
