The US staged a demonstration flyover of strategic aircraft during the meeting between Xi Jinping and Donald Trump at Andrews Air Force Base. The Americans wanted to impress the Chinese leader in this way, but the effect turned out somewhat different.
Trump flinched and grimaced as the aircraft flew over. His Chinese guest, meanwhile, did not react to the roar at all.
