A 26-year-old Kyiv resident decided to break into a store at night using a rather bizarre disguise. Before the heist, he climbed into a barrel of tar at a nearby construction site. Coated in the sticky sludge, the suspect kicked in the store's glass doors and slipped inside.
He stuffed cigarettes, juice, candy, an orange, a grapefruit, and wet wipes into a sack. However, security guards intervened before he could grab anything else.
Spotting the guards, the man bolted, but his bizarre spree didn't end there. As he fled, he started hurling rocks at the windows of a local lyceum. The commotion drew the attention of the police, who promptly arrested him.
Scrubbing the robber clean took more than five hours. The ordeal required 12 liters of oil, four liters of detergent, and shoe brushes.
He has now been officially charged with robbery and vandalism, facing up to 10 years in prison.
