How SuperAdobe rammed-earth houses are built
The video demonstrates the construction process of a dome house using SuperAdobe technology. Long bags are filled with earth and laid in a circle, with barbed wire placed between the layers for added strength. Each layer is thoroughly tamped down, and once construction is complete, the walls are finished with clay plaster.
SuperAdobe is an earthbag construction technology developed by Iranian architect Nader Khalili. It combines traditional earth-building methods with modern engineering solutions to create durable, eco-friendly, and affordable buildings.
Nader Khalili began developing the technology in 1984 as part of a NASA project exploring housing construction for future colonies on the Moon and Mars. However, he later adapted the method for use on Earth, making it practical and accessible.
