Formula 1 vs. designer: how the drivers created chaos before the Grand Prix.
Before the start of the British Grand Prix, Formula 1 drivers decided standard racing wasn't enough and took to the grid in unique LEGO cars. Each car was assembled from 28,000 pieces, and despite strict requests from the organizers to avoid any competitive element, the drivers predictably turned the race into an all-out battle. The stress proved fatal to the structures: under the onslaught of professional drivers, some karts gave way and spectacularly disintegrated right on the track. In this unusual discipline, Fernando Alonso took gold, Esteban Ocon took silver, and Valtteri Bottas took bronze. Interestingly, the main race of the British Grand Prix followed a completely different scenario: Charles Leclerc, George Russell, and Lewis Hamilton all took the podium.
