Mercedes-Maybach to build a 72-passenger luxury cruise superyacht (7 photos)
The Mercedes-Maybach division has launched an unusual project unrelated to the automotive industry. An agreement has been signed with the German shipyard Lloyd Werft to build the *Beyond Horizons* superyacht, featuring 30 luxury cabins accessible only to members of the exclusive Maybach Ocean Club.
The yacht will measure 155 meters in length, with a total deck area exceeding 4,600 square meters; each cabin will span 74 square meters, including a private sea-view balcony. In addition to luxurious living quarters, the yacht will feature spa areas, swimming pools, fine-dining restaurants, concert halls, and art galleries.
Industry professionals will handle the yacht's structural engineering, while Mercedes-Maybach specialists will oversee both the exterior and interior design. The design will incorporate the brand's signature style as well as technologies and materials used in Maybach vehicle interiors. Alongside the yacht itself, Lloyd Werft will build a support vessel responsible for logistics and the transport of supplies and equipment, including smaller boats and a helicopter.
The *Beyond Horizons* concept does not allow for private ownership of the yacht as a whole or of any individual cabin. Instead, Maybach Ocean Club members will be able to use the yacht's apartments for up to four weeks per year based on their membership status.
