Scotland qualified for the World Cup for the first time since 1998, and Craig wanted to celebrate the occasion. He also wanted to raise awareness about men's mental health. He dedicated his challenge to the father of his best friend, who committed suicide seven years ago.

On the road, Ferguson raised over £1 million for the charity Scottish Action for Mental Health. He received approximately half of the total amount in the final days of the challenge from the Scottish government and other donors.

"I always wanted to show guys that showing emotion, going through tough times, and just being human isn't a weakness, it's a superpower, if anything," Ferguson says.

The journey began in late February. He covered the entire distance in a kilt, getting from Los Angeles to Boston in 109 days. The trip took him to Arizona, Ohio, Colorado, Washington, and New York.

The fan shared videos on social media along the way and concluded his journey at Boston Common on June 12. Craig was greeted by fans in traditional costumes and Scottish uniforms.

"I love adventure. I love going out and doing crazy things. I really like the idea of walking long distances, having adventures, and seeing new places," says the Scotsman.
