Fashion designer Lagerfeld's cat still hasn't received her million-dollar inheritance (4 photos)
The legendary couturier called his pet "his one great love."
Seven years after the death of legendary German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, his famous cat "Chupette" has still not received her promised inheritance, despite numerous reports that she could become one of the richest cats in the world.
This was revealed by Françoise Cacot, the designer's former housekeeper, who was entrusted with the care of the pet after the designer's death in 2019. According to her, neither she nor "Chupette" have yet received any funds from the inheritance.
The 14-year-old Birman now lives in Paris with Kakot and her family. The woman admitted that she was forced to hire expensive lawyers to ensure that Lagerfeld's last will and testament were fulfilled and that the cat's interests were protected.
"I want to be absolutely frank: to date, we have received absolutely nothing. I had to hire expensive lawyers to formalize the inheritance in my name and ensure that Karl's wishes were properly observed," she shared.
During his life, Karl Lagerfeld called his cat his one great love. She flew on private jets, ate gourmet meals prepared by a chef, and was also looked after by two maids.
