A rare natural phenomenon was filmed over Tibet

So-called red ghosts (red sprites) have been filmed over Tibet. This rare natural phenomenon appears as bright red lightning.

Unlike regular lightning, which strikes downward from thunderclouds, red sprites appear very high above thunderclouds, in the upper atmosphere. Capturing them on camera is extremely difficult, as they only appear for a fraction of a second.
