A Lamborghini You Could Hardly Have Imagined Will Go Under the Hammer (11 photos)
This is one of five tractors built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the brand's founder.
In June, a highly unusual Lamborghini tractor will be auctioned at Car&Classic. Several years ago, five of these were made to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the brand's founder, Ferruccio Lamborghini. The tractor features a hot rod style with a steampunk twist. The price could exceed half a million dollars.
The Lamborghini Centenario tractor was created by Italian designer Adler Capelli with the support of Lamborghini experts from the German collector group Klima Lounge. The example up for sale was built in 2020.
It's based on a 1960s Lamborghini DLA35. It's equipped with a 2.2-liter, three-cylinder diesel engine producing 36.5 hp and a manual transmission. The tractor is fully functional—this particular one has already covered 500 kilometers.
Due to its low stance, the model resembles a hot rod. The driver and passenger sit between the enormous rear wheels. The handcrafted metal panels were intentionally left unpainted, allowing them to age naturally and develop a patina over time.
