Zebra on the streets of the capital of Armenia: an unknown person painted a donkey into an exotic animal
In the capital of Armenia, locals spotted a "zebra" wandering the streets of the city. Witnesses initially suspected the animal might have escaped from the local zoo, but it later turned out to be a prank.
The footage shows a donkey, painted to resemble an exotic animal, wandering the streets of Yerevan. Locals initially thought it was the same zebra that escaped from the zoo. However, they quickly realized it was a prank by an unknown person.
Zoo representatives subsequently stated that the information about the animal's alleged escape from the facility was untrue. The zoo later issued a statement explaining that the animal had no connection to them and that the animal in the video was not a zebra.
"This morning's news turned out to be nothing more than a bad joke. A citizen, whose identity is currently being established by law enforcement, painted his donkey stripes and brought it to Myasnikyan Avenue to film a video. We inform you that all the zebras at the zoo are safe in their enclosure," the statement reads.
Yerevan police are now interested in the prankster due to the alleged "escape" of a zebra, which turned out to be a donkey. The zoo has also warned against such "pranks," as chemical dyes can be toxic to animals and cause health problems.
