Free housing and €18,000 in cash are being handed out on the Greek island of Antikythera—all in an effort to attract new residents. Currently, the island has only 20 residents, and authorities are desperately trying to save it from extinction. New residents are being offered free housing and monthly payments of €500 for three years—a total of €18,000. The downsides: the island is only accessible by ferry, there's only one store, and virtually no work. Ideal for remote workers.
