A Chinese craftsman built a fishing camper from sewer pipes
A video of an unusual vehicle, perfect for a crucian fishing trip, is going viral online. It's a homemade floating camper van, assembled literally from materials found at a hardware store. This budget-friendly device, made of plastic and plywood, is fully functional and even electric, but with some quirks.
The creator of this unusual hybrid is Handy Geng. In China, he's nicknamed "the local Edison," although he's more often labeled a "master of useless inventions." He's famous for creating absurd yet technically functional things: from armored strollers to self-propelled barbecues. This amphibious fishing van turned out to be one of the most practical projects.
"Inside, it has everything you need for an autonomous vacation: a bed, a TV, a gear compartment, and even a stovetop for cooking fish."
The camper van's design is surprisingly simple and inexpensive. Instead of a boat hull, the builder used plastic pipes used for municipal sewer lines. They act as floats, providing stability on the water. Above, a plywood and metal frame forms a cozy "capsule."
Furthermore, the vehicle is completely electric. On land, it drives like a car, and when launched, it uses small propellers attached to the rear wheels.
