Camera Caught a Burglar on a Rooftop
A US resident discovered a man wearing a ski mask wandering across the roof of his house at night. According to his neighbor, the stranger was walking along the rooftops with a flashlight and peering into windows.
The homeowner, who wished to remain anonymous, told WPVI that he had once installed a camera on his roof to monitor raccoons and checked it occasionally. On April 12, he decided to check the footage again and saw a frightening stranger. The camera captured him around 2:00 a.m. on April 11.
"He was looking around; it looked like he was checking a window or something. So now we have a 'No Trespassing' sign on our roof, as crazy as that sounds," the source added.
His neighbor, Bill Fitch, said he also saw the man. "He looked down at me, and I thought maybe it was just a guy who'd climbed onto the roof in the middle of the night," the man explained. However, the masked stranger's behavior soon became suspicious to Fitch. He said he'd been walking across rooftops with a flashlight, peering into people's windows.
Fitch called 911, but the stranger had fled by the time the police arrived. "I have a feeling he'll come back. It makes me paranoid, really," the man admitted. Now he locks his doors tightly before bed and places his bikes in front of them. That way, if a stranger breaks into the house, Fitch will hear them and be able to catch them.
