An unusual competition, known as the ISU-1 Grand Prix, is gaining popularity in Japan. This format first appeared in 2009 in Kyoto, at the initiative of Tsuyoshi Tahara, who wanted to transform ordinary objects into a sporting event. Since then, the competition has been held in various cities across the country, attracting primarily office workers. Participants are divided into teams of three and race on ordinary office chairs through closed streets.
The race lasts two hours, and the team that travels the farthest wins, receiving a substantial 60 kilograms of rice as a reward.
