The author captured harvestmen resting. The arachnids have gathered in a huge colony of thousands of individuals.
Sometimes buildings, rocks, and trees become "covered in hair," which is actually a huge colony of harvestmen.
These arachnids can form a giant clump of hundreds or thousands of individuals to conserve moisture, protect themselves from predators, and simply rest. The largest recorded group was over 300,000 harvestmen.
They are visible during the day, but at night they disappear, crawling everywhere in search of food.
