Skip Boyce of Utah has begun a voluntary isolation experiment, committing to not leaving one room in his home for a year.





According to Boyce, his family is supporting the project. The room he is staying in is physically separated from the rest of the house, where his wife and daughter live. He is currently on day 17 of isolation, and thousands of viewers are already watching the broadcast.

Boyce, who previously owned a construction business, said the goal of the experiment is to improve his physical and mental well-being and restore discipline. He calls the project a "structured reset."



According to established rules, Boyce does not leave the room under any circumstances, and the broadcast remains active 24 hours a day. He has refused outside entertainment and unplanned interactions, emphasizing that all actions take place in full view of the audience.

The room is equipped with a private bathroom with a shower, bathtub, toilet, and sink, as well as storage cabinets. Food and supplies are delivered once a week through a special "airlock"—a cabinet accessible from both sides. Boyce prepares his own meals, and his family assists with logistics without violating the isolation regulations.



At the same time, some audience members and experts expressed concern about potential health risks. Critics note that prolonged isolation without access to fresh air, sunlight, and face-to-face interactions can negatively impact a person's physical and psychological well-being.
