A couple from the USA discovered a secret room in the house where they lived (10 photos + 1 video)

After living in their home for four years, a couple from the US state of Iowa were amazed to discover a secret room hidden behind a wall in their basement.





Meredith Morris, a nurse and midwife, shared her discovery on TikTok in a series of videos that have received nearly 20 million views. In one of them, her husband opens a heavy metal door, behind which lies a fairly spacious room.

“Why the hell have we never seen her in our house, even though we’ve been living here for four years?”



A woman filmed her husband walking behind a bookshelf and pushing the wall aside to reveal a metal door. Behind it was a room large enough for several people.

The couple stumbled upon the room while working on carpet in the basement.





The room turned out to be unremarkable, except for some strange red spots around the drain on the floor



The blood-like stains prompted the woman to wonder if she should bring a service dog there.

Her husband, also a doctor, had his own theory:

I think it was a kind of panic room.

As for the stains, both owners laughed nervously and decided that it was just rust:

And there was also a magnetic duck lying there



Too cute for everything else inside this room.

People in the comments offered their guesses about the purpose of the room, with some theories being sinister

As it turns out, this is not the only secret room in the house.





There was another one that the owners knew about. This room was located behind the mirror and was turned into a playroom for the children (the couple has three). Just as spacious, but much less intimidating.

After reading numerous comments on their video, the owners still called the police. Just in case



According to Meredith, police went into the house to examine the room, but found no reason to investigate:

They saw no evidence of a crime and nothing resembling DNA evidence to collect. However, they were very impressed with how hidden the room was.
