A Belgian company has developed an airbag for cyclists that fits into shorts. It protects the neck, spine, chest, and hips.
The Belgian company Aerobag has developed an airbag for cyclists. In the event of a fall, it protects the neck, spine, chest, and hips.
The inflatable sections are integrated into the vest and shorts and deploy in just 100 milliseconds. After deployment, they can be deflated and packed away for reuse, but the CO2 cartridge (which inflates the entire system) will need to be replaced.
Sales are expected to begin this year. The kit will cost €700, with cartridges priced at €35 each.
