A Woman Inhales Food Through a Straw and Feels "Phenomenal" (3 photos)
Katherine Andrea began inhaling food through her nostrils while still in college. She claims there are "no downsides" to this strange habit.
American Katherine Andrea blends all her food and then inhales it through her nostril using a straw. The Daily Star reports on this strange eating habit.
"My relationship with food was pretty normal until I went to college," Katherine explained on My Strange Addiction, a show that has aired on American television since 2010.
During her studies, she made a bet that she could inhale a flavored drink through her nose. She felt dizzy, but admitted the juice tasted "fruitier" than if she'd drank it orally.
Since then, she's been getting all her nutrition through her nose for about five years and claims there are "no downsides" to her habit. She even claimed that this unusual method of consumption helps her avoid overeating.
When eating out, Katherine prefers those that can puree her food in a blender. However, she's also happy to have liquid dishes like soups or porridge with gravy.
One of the doctors consulting with the TV show's participants doesn't rule out the possibility that snorting food through the nose could cause inflammation of the nasal mucosa or damage to the lungs. However, after a thorough examination, the doctor found no fluid or infection in the lungs.
Katherine, it is noted, has finally decided to stop sniffing food, believing she narrowly escaped trouble. ![]()
