China has begun to boost demographics with AI videos of crying women (1 photo + 2 videos)
In China, there's a boom in a new genre of AI-generated videos—the remorse genre. These videos feature unmarried middle-aged women crying and tearing their hair out of grief over never getting married and having children. 
Generated videos of elderly women crying in hospital corridors are becoming increasingly popular on social media. In them, they lament not getting married when they were young, instead choosing a career instead. As a result, they now have no children and are forced to visit hospitals alone:
I regret it. My parents told me I should get married and have children. I disobeyed them, thinking it was too much of a hassle. Look at me now.
Even though all the videos are labeled as being generated by a neural network, many parents whose children haven't started families have used them to argue with their offspring:
We need more videos like this. Show them to those who haven't yet decided to have children.
This is an important educational tool for clueless youth.
Young people, however, were skeptical of this creative work. They note that single women of this age usually look much better in real life. They don't need to waste their energy and health on a family, and can devote all their free time to self-care.
And some users believe that such videos could trigger anxiety in those who haven't yet found a partner:
I wonder if those who make these videos are trying to trigger anxiety in single women and provoke conflicts between married and single people? There's nothing right or wrong about being married or staying single. They're different ways to be happy.
