During a powerful Christmas storm in Australia, a massive construction crane broke in half. As a result, the multi-ton metal structure was left hanging at an angle and has loomed menacingly over the Broadwater tourist park for several days.
Police immediately declared a state of emergency. The park was partially evacuated, forcing more than 90 people to evacuate the area, leaving behind campers, tents, boats, and even Christmas presents.
Access to the area remains closed: while the crane remains suspended, entry is strictly prohibited. Due to weather conditions, dismantling the structure is not feasible in the near future.
