The Chinese are already training a "peaceful" T800 in the ring (2 photos + 3 videos)

The future is approaching so fast that we no longer have time to be surprised. Here's the T800 (yes, the one with the 185 cm height and aluminum armor) preparing for his first boxing sparring session in Shenzhen. And no, I'm not just freaking out; the Chinese engineers at EngineAI just decided it was time to stop joking about "The Terminator" and show it off for real.

Chinese company EngineAI unveiled the T800 humanoid robot: weighing 85 kilograms, with aluminum armor, 41 degrees of freedom, and a face that even in the teaser looks like it's saying "I'll be back."

Officially, this is simply a participant in the grand "Robot Boxer" show, which will take place on December 24th in Shenzhen. The idea is that these iron men will be throwing punches in the ring to demonstrate how rapidly civilian robotics is developing.

However, the internet is already buzzing: supposedly, the first batch of these "Terminators" is being prepared for testing by the People's Liberation Army of China, and if successful, the PLA will have up to 300,000 combat humanoids by 2030. Imagine: an entire division of silent Arnolds in uniform, marching around the parade ground. Sounds like the script for a new James Cameron film, right?

EngineAI, of course, denies everything. They say we're peaceful guys, making robots for factories, hospitals, and household chores, and the boxing tournament is just marketing. No military contracts, no secret testing grounds, nothing like that. We just want the world to see how cool we've learned to make joints and batteries.

But let's be honest: we've all seen "Terminator." When someone creates a two-meter-tall, armored humanoid robot called the T800 and then says "it's strictly for peaceful purposes," Sarah Connor immediately switches on inside and whispers, "That's what they all say." First, robots learn boxing, then hurdles, then shooting, and then someone accidentally presses the "take over the world" button.

For now, of course, these are just jokes and memes. But when these iron beauties step into the ring next year and start throwing hooks left and right, we'll definitely be watching the broadcast with a slight chill down our spines.
