A football coach believes his team lost due to voodoo magic
The Nigerian national football team lost to the Democratic Republic of Congo (1-1, 3-4 on penalties) in a 2026 World Cup qualifying match. Nigerian national team head coach Eric Schell is convinced the opponents performed voodoo during the penalty shootout.
The man believes a representative of the DR Congo national team used voodoo. After the decisive penalty, the coach ran toward the opposing team's bench and started a fight.
"During the penalty shootout, the guy from Congo was practicing voodoo. All the time. It was water or something... That's why I got a little angry," said Nigerian national team head coach Eric Schell.
