A football player hit the wrong goal while fighting off an enemy attack
Opa Sangante, midfielder of the national team of Guinea-Bissau, became a real anti-hero of the match with the Nigerian national team, hitting his own goal.
The Guinea-Bissau midfielder flicked the ball over his goalkeeper to give Nigeria a 1-0 lead in the 36th minute.
Guinea-Bissau lost its first two games to Cote d'Ivoire (2-0) and Equatorial Guinea (4-2) and therefore the team for which Opa Sangante played only needed a victory. But this did not happen and the meeting ended with a minimum score of 0:1 in favor of the three-time African champion.
According to the Fifa football rankings, the Nigerian national team is in 42nd place, and Guinea-Bissau is in 103rd place, while the Russian national team, deprived of the right to compete on the international stage, has slipped to 38th place.
