Disney Studios released a New Year's short film about the friendship between a girl and her drawing
Disney is kicking off the holiday season with a Christmas short film called "The Best Christmas Ever." The film was directed by Oscar-winning Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit and Thor: Ragnarok), and features John Goodman, the voice of Sally from Monsters, Inc., voicing the title character.
In "The Best Christmas Ever," Santa accidentally brings to life a drawing a girl left on the back of her Christmas wish list. The girl takes care of her mute friend and learns to understand him without words.
The next Christmas, the girl wishes for Santa to give her Mr. Potato Head from Toy Story. However, the girl wants the toy for a reason: she rips off Potato Head's mouth and gives it to the awkward doodle so they can speak the same language.
The short film was made in support of Disney's Toys for Tots charity campaign, which donates unwanted toys to children in need and orphanages.
