It might seem like finding the answer to any question online is easy, as long as you formulate it correctly. But sometimes this doesn't work, and users encounter unusual and confusing issues. Luckily, there are internet experts out there!

1. What's that little plastic thing in the corner of the shopping cart?

This is a special compartment for small items like pens and other stationery.

2. What are those poles with nets on top on the side of the road in the Netherlands?

I assume they're there to help bats navigate. Have trees been cut down near the road recently? Bats need to hear their squeaks reflected off objects to know where they're going. And these things replace leaves on the trees.

3. I found this in my grandfather's things. A metal thing, a couple of centimeters in diameter, with spines.

This thing is used to cut the tops off soft-boiled eggs.

4. It looks like a bird feeder or nesting place, hung on the fence by the previous owner of the house. What is it?

This is a bee house.

5. One of the items from the silver set. The tip is like a corkscrew, but it's not strong enough to be used as a corkscrew. What is it used for?

This is a special tool used to pick up pieces of butter.

6. I found this tube on the beach. Any idea what it is?

These are stingray teeth.

7. I found these metal things under the pier when I was metal detecting there.

I saw these a few weeks ago. I don't remember what religion they're from, but they're the kind of things people throw into the water for good luck or just during prayer. They're cheap and have no meaning once they're thrown into the water. So you can keep them. And no, they're not ancient.

8. What is this stop sign?

These are special blinds that allow the sign to be seen only from a certain angle.

9. What is this strange chain of beads slowly flying across the sky?

It looks like a rosary made of beads. It was most likely made in honor of a holiday.

10. What are those blue nets hanging between the trees?

I'm pretty sure they're for catching fruit from the trees. They're just rolled up right now because there's no fruit.

11. I found this in a box of kitchen utensils. Is it used for cutting meat or something?

This is a special bread knife that allows you to cut bread into uniform pieces.

12. A heavy black ball hanging under a white net in the middle of a field.

This is a special trap for horseflies.

13. I saw this at my university. It looks like it's made of metal and cylindrical. It has a lot of small holes on the sides.

This is a diffuser that slowly releases cool air from the air conditioner into the room.

14. A tool the size and shape of a banana

This is a special tool used for planting. It makes holes in the ground.

15. This item hangs in the hospital lobby. It's a smooth pyramid with no symbols or numbers. Does anyone know what this is?

This is a mobile phone signal booster for indoor use.
