Dream Job: Men are being sought online for sea adventures (2 photos)
A job posting has appeared online for men who are promised exciting sea adventures and treasure hunts. The salary is up to $100,000 per year.
The job description includes "rum-fueled work," singing sea songs, and having fun, but there's a catch. A corresponding posting appeared on the Indeed platform a few days ago, according to iFunny.
The job description states that they are currently recruiting a team of 30 to 50 "good" workers. The position is exclusively for men.
They are invited to join the adventure, promising a large salary of at least $60,000 and up to $100,000 per year. However, finding treasure is a prerequisite for receiving such funds.
"We are looking for a team of 30-50 good men, $60,000 - $100,000 per year (if we find treasure)," the job posting states.
The full job description is as follows:
Sail around the world in search of treasure;
Get drunk on beer and rum;
Sing sea songs.
Network users noticed that the photo of the job posting featured a ship that resembled a pirate ship. Furthermore, the job description itself raised suspicions and hinted at maritime piracy, sparking a wave of jokes.
"It's a trap! Anyone who knows the history of pirates would never willingly become one," noted one commenter.
Another user joked that Captain Jack Sparrow (a character from the Pirates of the Caribbean film series) was "looking for souls for Davy Jones" by posting similar ads online.
It's unclear whether the job posting is real or a joke.
