How damaged warships are transported (12 photos + 1 video)
Amateur photographers photographed two American destroyers that were damaged during collisions with other ships.
Here is a stunning spectacle of warships housed on the huge cargo ships M/V Treasure and M/V Transshelf
The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers USS McCain and USS Fitzgerald arrived in Tokyo Bay en route to nearby Yokosuka, home of the U.S. 7th Fleet.
The USS McCain will undergo repairs at a local drydock, while the more severely damaged USS Fitzgerald will head to the Pascagoula, Mississippi, shipyard after a short layover.
Let me remind you that on June 17, 2017, the USS Fitzgerald was involved in an early morning collision with the merchant ship ACX Crystal approximately 10 miles off the coast of Japan. As a result of the incident, a large hole was formed in the side of the ship, 7 sailors were killed and 3 were injured. Two months later, on August 21, 2017, the USS McCain collided off the coast of Singapore with the merchant ship Alnic MC, killing 10 sailors.
