Every forest is said to have its own magic. But the place known as the Enchanted Forest didn't get its unofficial name for nothing. 
It's not listed in tourist brochures or on road signs. Yet, El Bosque Encantado, or the Enchanted Forest of Orrius, is popular with mystery lovers from around the world. 
In the quiet Catalan village of Orrius, hidden near Barcelona, there is a forest that locals call enchanted. 
Dive into this forest like a journey into another dimension, home to goblins, monsters, and secret witch covens. A path winding through the trees leads the traveler to stone statues rising from the earth like ancient guardians. Many resemble the famous moai, the monolithic statues of Easter Island. Others resemble giant elephants or vaguely mythical creatures. Rumor has it that these sculptures are the work of local artists, and their signatures can even be found at the base of the stone giants. 
The composition and arrangement of the figures themselves suggest mystical or mythological symbols—themes of space and boundaries, earth and deity are visible here. Perhaps these stone faces are gateways to another reality. 
Some clearly believe this. Animal remains found in the forest indicate possible ritual sacrifices. There's a belief that gnomes live in or beneath these stone structures. One of the boulders even has a tiny door through which several people can slip. 
Therefore, while in Barcelona, it's easy to escape the city for a while in search of another world. And who knows, perhaps the Enchanted Forest of Orrius won't disappoint and will open the door just for you.
