The sky show of the year: a bright meteor shower and an ancient comet not seen since the 7th century (5 photos)
The Orionid meteor shower peaked last night, and will begin tonight and last for several days: up to 25 shooting stars per hour will be visible. Next, Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon), which hasn't appeared since the 670s, will pass so CLOSE to Earth that it will be visible without special equipment.
