A practically new 1984 Chevrolet Camaro sold for $25,900 (28 photos)
The Hagerty auction concluded on a truly unique "time capsule" – a Chevrolet Camaro Z28 coupe. This 1984 model year car had only been driven 300 miles at the time of the auction. Despite being in excellent condition, the coupe sold for just $25,900.
The auctioneers did not provide any details about the Camaro's history, stating only that cars of this model year are rarely found for sale in this condition, as they are usually kept in private collections or museums. The coupe is equipped with an optional air conditioning system and audio system.
The third-generation Chevrolet Camaro received the Z28 model at the same time it debuted in late 1981. This model featured a unique aerodynamic body and the most powerful engine available at the time. Model year 1984 cars were equipped with a new V8, designated L69. With an impressive 5.0-liter displacement, it produced only 190 horsepower. Typically, the engine was paired with a five-speed manual transmission, but in the car sold, it was mated to an optional four-speed automatic.
